Every piece I make carries my name, and I stand behind the care that goes into it. If something isn't right with the materials or workmanship, I want to hear about it.
What I stand behind
Greg's Wood Working covers defects in materials and workmanship for one year from the date your piece is delivered or picked up, when used as intended and cared for properly. This applies to custom pieces made by Greg's Wood Working, including pieces purchased as gifts.
For a covered defect, I'll repair or replace the affected piece at my discretion, with no charge for covered materials or labor.
Wood is naturally one of a kind
Grain patterns, knots, color differences, and small natural variations are part of real wood. Wood can also respond to changes in temperature and humidity. Normal aging, fading, and natural movement are not manufacturing defects.
A crack or split isn't automatically excluded. I'll review the cause to determine whether it reflects a covered defect or damage from use or exposure.
A note about outdoor pieces
Outdoor signs and birdhouses face conditions that indoor pieces don't. A protective finish helps, but it does not make wood weatherproof or maintenance-free.
This guarantee does not cover damage caused by storms, wind, hail, flooding, prolonged moisture, extreme temperatures, or extended direct-sun exposure. Weather-related fading, discoloration, warping, and cracking are also excluded when caused by those conditions rather than a defect in materials or workmanship.
What isn't covered
- Normal wear, scratches, and cosmetic changes from age or use.
- Accidental damage, drops, misuse, or improper mounting.
- Damage caused by care or cleaning that is unsuitable for the piece.
- Damage caused by alterations or repairs, rather than an original defect.
- Outdoor use of a piece designed for indoor display.
Help your piece last
Keep indoor pieces away from prolonged direct sunlight, excess moisture, and strong heat sources. Dust gently and avoid soaking the wood or using harsh cleaners.
For outdoor pieces, choose a sheltered location where practical, check the finish periodically, and follow the care guidance provided for your specific piece. Ask me before applying a cleaner or new finish if you're unsure what to use.
If you have a concern
Contact me within the one-year coverage period with clear photos, a description of the concern, and your order details or the approximate purchase date. I'll review it with you and explain the next steps. Please contact me before returning a piece so we can discuss inspection and any delivery or shipping arrangements.
This limited warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state. Nothing here limits rights that cannot legally be excluded.
